PTSA Direct Donation Drive

In lieu of the spring fundraiser, Mile Challenge, a middle school version of a jog-a-thon, PTSA will be sponsoring a Direct Donation Drive. Your contributions to the PTSA, enhance your child’s educational experience, enjoyment, and overall safety here at Venado Middle School. With a typical fundraiser (such as wrapping paper, magazines and cookie dough sales) only a small percentage of what you spend (typically 20%-40%) benefits your child. With a Direct Donation fundraiser, 100% of the money you donate will go towards the programs at Venado and will directly benefit your child. Contributions are 100% tax deductible.

To meet our goal, we are asking families to make direct donations to the PTSA in one of the following ways:

  • Complete and print the online form and return it to Venado with your check/cash donation

or

  • Make a donation through PayPal (the link is also embedded in the online form)

Donation fundraising deadline: Friday, April 11, 2014

The Venado PTSA appreciates your support of our school.

Gift BasketGift Basket Donations Needed

This spring, Venado will be participating in two events for which we have been asked to contribute gift baskets for silent auctions. We are seeking donations of items, gift cards, or funds to purchase items for each of the two themed baskets.

The first event, Irvine Junior Games, is on Sunday, May 18 at Irvine High School. The theme of our basket is going to be “Man’s Best Friends” – all about dogs. Money raised from this silent auction goes to support the Irvine Children’s Fund.

The second event is the Irvine Relay for Life, on Saturday, June 7, 2014. Venado will have a team which will consist of staff members, students and families – we hope you can join us. The theme for this basket is “Walk to Hawaii” – it’s all tropical and about the beach. Money raised from this silent auction goes to support the American Cancer Society and their fight against cancer.

If you would like to donate towards either or both of these gift baskets, please send your donations to Venado by Tuesday, April 22, 2014.

Thank you for supporting our school and these two events.

Please Recycle Your Plastic Bags!

The City of Irvine MSP Youth Action Team is partnering with Albertson’s & TREX to collect 500 POUNDS of Plastic Bags!!! These plastic bags will be recycled & repurposed and turned into a bench…that will be placed at the Rancho Senior Center Garden. Each middle school is involved. This is a district wide competition and Venado is currently in the lead with 100lbs collected!!! There are 2 boxes in the Venado Commons/MPR specifically for plastic bags. We are looking forward to collaborating with you to reach our goal.
