First Grade Winter Quarter

 

Welcome back! We hope you all had a wonderful winter break and Happy New Year! We will be starting a new reading program called Charlie's Story Club. This is a reading incentive program to encourage all children to read each night. Information will be sent home with our weekly homework packet. We are doing our mid-year assessments and are pleased with the progress that our students are making! Parent conferences will be the week of March 15th-19th. We encourage all our students to participate in the OC Marathon. It is a ten week program and registration forms are due and can be found on the school website. We will be focusing on two writer's workshops this quarter. The focus will be on descriptive writing and a fictional story. Please continue to follow the math pacing guide for homework and do not work ahead. Our new science unit for this quarter is Air, Sun and Water. Thank you for all you do at home to support your child's learning.

 

First Grade is out of copy paper and is running out of glue sticks...if you can donate a ream and a package of glue sticks, we would be very appreciative and grateful! Thank you!!
