May is Mental Health Awareness Month

CalOptima Behavioral Health Initiative & the Orange County Health Care Agency will present the following series of trainings, which will be held at CalOptima Health's main building at 505 City Parkway West, Orange

Wednesday, May 8th at 9 am - 4:30 pm  Adult Mental Health First Aid  - Learn how to recognize the signs of mental health or substance use challenges in adults age 18+, how to offer and provide initial help and guide a person towards appropriate care.

Tuesday, May 14th at 9 am - 3 pm  Youth Mental Health First Aid - Learn how to help an adolescent ages 12 - 18 who is experiencing a mental health or addiction challenge or who is in crises.

Thursday, May 23rd at 10 am - Noon  Understanding Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE's)  - Learn why ACE's impact peoples lives, and what we can all do to dramatically improve health and resilience for current and future generations.

Saturday, May 18 9 am - 1 pm

Children's & Families Health Fair at Orangethorpe Elementary School, 1400 S. Brookhurst Rd., Fullerton.  

Hosted by the County of Orange Social Services Agency and Supervisor Doug Chaffee, the event will be Olympic-themed with vision, dental and health screenings available. Cal Optima will be hosting a resource booth.

Saturday, June 8 10:30 am - 1 pm Cal optima Health PACE will host an open house at PACE Center for senior health and wellness.  Take a tour of the PACE Center and learn about their mission to provide comprehensive medical and social support services so that participants can live safely in their respective communities for as long as possible. Medi-Cal renewal is ongoing.  If your local Medi-Cal office sends you a renewal form in a yellow envelope or asks for more information, please respond immediately. Otherwise, you and your family may lose your health coverage. You can expect to receive their renewal packet two months before your renewal due date.

Even if you don't think you're eligible, complete the Medi-Cal renewal form.  Medi-Cal income limits are different for kids. They may qualify even if the adults in the house do not.
