The Irvine Unified School District
is committed to the optimum development of each
learner and to the belief that all students can and
want to learn. The District believes students
nurtured in a warm and supportive environment develop
responsibility for their own behavior and a concern
for others. In a climate of inquiry and excitement
all students acquire basic skills and develop their
own special capabilities. Such a program requires an
educational system that is adaptive and uniquely
responsive to the students and parents served.
The District is committed to a
management structure which places responsibility,
accountability and resources with those individuals
working directly with students. The needs of society
can best be served by assisting in the development of
students who have confidence in themselves, their
abilities and skills, and who have a deep sense of
their own worth and the worth of others.
