The Board of Education recognizes that the district
may own personal property which is unusable,
obsolete, or no longer needed by the district. The
Superintendent or designee shall arrange for the sale
or disposal of district personal property in
accordance with the elements of this policy and the
requirements of state law.
- The Board shall approve the recommended
disposition of district personal property by a majority vote of all
members present at a regular meeting or a
special meeting called for that purpose. The
Board shall sell the property to the highest
responsible bidder or shall reject all bids,
or in the alternate, authorize the sale of
the property by public auction.
- If the Board finds that the property is of
insufficient value to defray the costs of
arranging a sale, the property may be
disposed of according to the appropriate
method, including disposal by dumping, by donation, or by
mutilation/destruction.
