The Board of Education encourages
the use of consultants when they can provide valuable
and necessary specialized services not normally
required on a continuing basis and which cannot be
provided by District personnel because of limitations
of time, experience and/or knowledge.
The Board of Education shall not
enter into any contract for personal consulting
services, except legal services or services for the
fiscal audit of the District finances, until and
unless the following steps have been completed:
- the abilities of the employees
of the District to perform the services have
been examined, and
- the abilities of the employees
of the Office of the County Superintendent of
Schools to provide the service have been examined, and
- the abilities of the employees
of districts of county offices of education
adjoining the District have been examined,
and
- that the services available
from those sources will not meet the needs of
the District.
