PERSONAL NECESSITY LEAVE

It is the intent of the Irvine Unified School District to provide accumulated sick leave as provided in the Education Code for matters of a compelling personal nature.  Such absence must be approved in advance of the absence except in the case of death, accident, or serious illness to the employee or a member of his immediate family.

Personal necessity shall not be used for vacation, recreation, personal convenience, concerted activities, or to extend a break in the school year calendar.
