Educational study trips and excursions are a common and often important part of the
educational development of students.
All school sponsored trips involving students will have proper supervision at all times
by school employees. Parents are permitted and encouraged to assist in such
supervision.
The safety and security of students under the care of the Irvine
Unified School District is of paramount concern. If the Irvine
Unified School District receives threat level warnings from the Homeland
Security Advisory System, incremental precautions will be implemented to
protect the safety of students. All field trips and excursions shall comply with appropriate sections of the Education
Code governing the students involved.
Schools do not receive specific budgetary allocations for field trips. Field trips or excursions to destinations outside the State of California or requiring the
solicitation of funds in excess of $1,000.00 (total) require Board approval prior
to planning or publicizing the trip.
