CREDIT FOR PRIVATE INSTRUCTION

BOARD POLICY - 6157

Credit toward graduation for private instruction may be granted to a student enrolled and in attendance in the secondary schools of the district.

Programs approved for private instruction shall be determined by a panel of principals and shall meet or exceed the quality of coursework provided by IUSD.  Private instruction requires a written application for credit prior to enrollment and approval by the principal or designee. The award of credit is determined by the principal.

It is the desire of the Board that students be given every reasonable assistance under the conditions of this policy.
