About Your Teacher: Mrs. Jo-Ann Agapito Welche
I was born in the Philippines and moved to Southern California when I was three. I grew up in Irvine and went to Venado Middle School and graduated from Woodbridge High School. Before teaching at Culverdale, I also taught at University Park, Plaza Vista and El Camino Real. After graduating college with a business degree I worked in advertising. I always had a passion to teach kids, so I decided to become a teacher. I received my teaching credential and masters degrees in Cross Cultural Education and Educational Technology. I enjoy music, reading, traveling, cooking and sports such as boxing and Muay Thai (kickboxing). I also teach a kickboxing class once a week. I recently got married and I'm still getting used to my new name.
