2015 Spirit of Excellence Honorees Rock, Design and Educate the Future

President and CEO Emile Haddad, and his wife, Dina, will serve as Co-Chairs for IPSF's 2015 Spirit of Excellence 6th Annual Gala and Auction on October 17. We're privileged to recognize honorees defining excellence in terms that touch people around the globe. Grammy Award-winning band No Doubt guitarist and 1986 Woodbridge High School graduate Tom Dumont will pick up the Spirit of Excellence in Music award. Irvine High School '01 graduate Justin Chen will earn the Spirit of Excellence in the Arts for his award-winning concepts as an architect with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. UC Irvine will receive the Visionary Award, presented to Chancellor Howard Gillman, author of more than 40 books, articles and book chapters. The Rising Star Award goes to 2007 graduates of Woodbridge and University High Schools, The Brevet, credited with popularizing the Epic Americana musical genre.

Please help IPSF help our schools by connecting us with sponsors for  the 6th annual Spirit of Excellence Gala.

STEAM Carnival Means Fun for the Whole Family

What could be better than carnival games to spark your kids' interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM)?  Plan to attend the IPSF STEAM Carnival from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 18 at Edwards Courtyard at The Market Place. Tickets for this family-friendly event are only $5, and if you buy ahead, you'll be entered into a drawing for gift cards ranging from $100 to $500 from The Market Place and other merchants! There will be something for every member of the family at the carnival, including virtual realities, robots, Minecraft, human foosball, and stage shows featuring mad scientists and live music!  Kids 3 and younger and students wearing their 2015 Summer Enrichment Academy T-shirts get in free.

Enjoy Some "PATS" on the Back

IPSF extends our gratitude to every family who made the Parents Appreciating Teachers and Staff (PATS) program a success this year. Thanks to donations from generous parents, we raised $58,000 to support our Innovative Teaching Awards Program (ITAP). Since 1996, we've awarded out more than 685 grants to 879 teachers totaling $952,911 to fuel innovation in IUSD classrooms. Funding ranges from $100 to $25,000 for projects that take learning to the next level in schools across the district. Check out the impact here!
