Enrollment for the 2007-2008 School Year
Dear parents and students,
Reflecting the belief that parents should have a choice of schools, the Irvine Unified School District established at its inception an Open Enrollment Policy. This policy provides the opportunity for parents who reside in the district to enroll their student in any school within the district on a space available basis.
Each school in Irvine is required to serve the students who live within its attendance area prior to accepting any students from outside its boundary or from outside the district. Students residing inside the district receive priority over students residing outside the district. Families who live within the Canyon View attendance area have priority over students who reside outside this boundary.
If you are new to our school, you are welcome to begin the
registration process through our
IUSD On-Line Data
Entry Process Parents of incoming Kindergarten students may pick up a registration packet in our front office beginning on March 17, 2008. We invite you to our Kindergarten Round-Up on the evening of April 24, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in our Multi Purpose Room to learn more about our Kindergarten program and the enrollment process. Parents of children entering grades 1 through 6 may pick up a registration packet from our front office beginning on April 14th.
Please remember that your registration is not finalized until the entire process has been completed through our front office. We are currently experiencing a period of elevated enrollment and we encourage you to complete the process as soon as possible in order to ensure that your child has reserved a spot at Canyon View.
Please visit the I.U.S.D. enrollment page for additional information regarding our open enrollment policy, neighborhood school boundary maps, and how schools establish priority for enrollment at school sites.
Thank you,
Susan Kemp, Ed.D
