Grade Level News
We have been busy writing about life long ago from a child’s perspective. We wrote about a complete day using descriptive words and attempted to use VOICE.
In reading the children have been identifying story elements: character, setting, problem and solutions. We read non-fiction books and identified important facts.
We finished working on graphing and comparing data.
In science the children did several experiments focusing on air. They learned that air takes up space, can be compressed, and causes pressure. They have learned about measuring temperature, watching clouds, and measuring wind.
The first graders have worked hard learning the play songs and memorizing their lines for the play.
