In September 2011, Woodbridge High School welcomed the addition of approximately 22,000 square feet of instructional space that includes dedicated music and fitness rooms. As part of this $12 million expansion project, the Woodbridge Warriors award winning music department was relocated from their existing space and expanded into three brand new classrooms with separate facilities for instrumental, choral, and ensemble. This wing also includes several practice rooms, expanded instrument storage, a music library, and music administration offices.
Attached to this music facility, physical education acquired a large fitness room to house dance, aerobic, and cardio-related activities. Directly across from this new complex, new classrooms were added for general instructional use. These new facilities create a small courtyard, with drought tolerant landscaping, allowing a small gathering place for students to converse and enjoy their breaks.
This project has been designed to CHPS standards, and therefore promotes sustainability and energy efficiency in its design, construction, and long term operations.
In August 2011, Woodbridge High School welcomed the addition of an Aquatics Center located near the Meadowbrook entrance of the campus. This 50-meter swimming pool, complete with locker rooms and various amenities, is the new home for the Warriors Aquatics Programs. Students previously practiced and competed at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center adjacent to irvine High School.

The Irvine Unified School District proposes to develop a new athletic stadium at University High School. The stadium would be constructed on the north side of the campus in an area presently developed with the school's football and athletic track.
