Extended Day Physical Education

Extended Day Physical Education (sometimes known as Zero Period P.E.) enables middle school students to enroll in a yearlong instrumental music class and take a second elective during the school day. With sufficient enrollment and contributions, Extended Day P.E. classes will continue to be held either before or after school. However, due to smaller contributions the past two years we are limiting each site to one section of the course. Students who sign up are required to be enrolled in at least one yearlong elective which is either uncapped in class size, such as instrumental and choral music, or in an elected/appointed yearlong leadership position.

Extended Day P.E. is not a required class, and it is not paid for through general school funds. In fact, these courses are fully dependent on financial contributions from our participating families. Please know that a donation is not required to enroll, and families that choose to contribute may do so at any amount. However, a suggested donation of $540 per year or $180 per trimester – about $3 per day – will help sustain this valuable program. Conversely, insufficient enrollment and/or insufficient funding could result in its cancellation.
