Eastshore's Library Media program provides a rich variety of materials to support curriculum and promote a lifelong love of reading. Our library contains over nine thousand books, which include hardcover, paperbacks, magazines, encyclopedia sets, and other reference materials. There are forty PC computers in the Library/Media center, twenty of which make up our main computer lab. All classrooms have a weekly library time were students may check out library books and magazines. Books are due back the following week at their scheduled library class time. If a student damages or loses a book they will be asked to pay for a replacement. All classrooms except Kindergarten will visit the Computer Lab once a week for instruction in one or many of the following areas: Basic Computer Skills, Type to Learn, Word Processing, Internet Usage, PowerPoint, Excel,Bibliography formatting, and Research Skills. Students will also learn how to use computers throughout the school to search for library books using our library computer catalog system. All students will be instructed in what is appropriate behavior in the library/media center. Additionally, they will be asked to sign permission forms regarding computer usage and library book check-out. Copies of these permission slips may be found on the following sites. Policies:
