Our mission at Woodbury Elementary School is to create a nurturing environment through which we meet the academic needs of our students, and empower them with the values necessary to become contributing members of society. By combining a rigorous academic program guided by the California State Standards, dedicated staff members, and a nurturing educational environment, we aim to help all students recognize their potential and the joy of learning.
For parents new to our school community, please be assured that we are committed to providing your child with the highest quality educational experience we can envision. For returning parents and students, we hope that you will continue to offer the same high level of support and involvement that you have in the past so that we can enrich the lives of every student.
We would like welcome our new principal for the 2008/2009 school year, Mrs. ChrissAnn Shane. Mrs. Shane attended Cal State Fullerton and UCI, and received her Masters in Administration and Educational Technology from Pepperdine University. After teaching in Irvine for 8 years at Meadow Park Elementary School, Brywood Elementary School and Turtle Rock Elementary School, ChrissAnn accepted her first principalship in Garden Grove USD. She was a principal in Garden Grove for four years and then returned to Irvine in 2004, where she has served as the principal of Turtle Rock Elementary.
Our new home at Woodbury Elementary is truly amazing! Woodbury Elementary School is a K-6 year-round, single-track school. The building includes the latest in technology, including a computer lab with 36 computers for direct instruction and an additional 30 or more computers in each classroom wing for student use throughout the day. The new school campus also has a well stocked library, separate kindergarten area, multipurpose room, high-tech stage, enhanced food service area, lunch shelter, playfields, and hard courts. In addition to Woodbury’s strong academic programs, students participate in music, art, PE, and science from specialists in these fields. We welcome new Woodbury families to get to know our school and staff.
