About Us

The Early Childhood Learning Center was established in 2002, in an effort to bring together each of the various early childhood education programs within IUSD. As Los Naranjos Elementary School was closed, the ECLC took its place, housing the 5 founding programs on one site. The site initially included the Special Education Preschool, Head Start, Early Start, Montessori International (no longer in operation) and the School Readiness Program.

These programs seized the unique opportunity to provide a continuum of services, collaborate together to share resources, and to offer a range of early childhood educational experiences to Irvine families.

Today, ECLC staff are highly trained and qualified professionals, teaching in a developmentally appropriate environment using curriculum and materials based on best-practice research in early childhood education.

The four ECLC programs; Early Start, Head Start, School Readiness Program and the Special Education Preschool strive to support our students and encourage success throughout their early educational experiences and beyond.

Each program has a unique focus, educational philosophy, and goals for pursuing excellence in early childhood education. All four programs work collaboratively to ensure success and offer support to students and families.
