Responsibilities:
Credentialed School Nurses work together
with the Health Clerk to support students with health
related concerns.
Specific
responsibilities include: |

Health Clerk |
- Provides nursing treatments.
- Medication delegation, administration & supervision.
- Assesses health status and special health care plans for students
- Provides staff training & health education.
- Provides health consultation to students and staff.
- Provides referrals to community resources.
- Participates in Student Study Team & Individual
Education Plan Teams with other support staff.
- Coordinates prevention and control of communicable
disease.
- Provides State Mandated Screenings: Vision & Hearing, Vision &
Hearing Follow Up, Scoliosis.
- Provides health screening/referrals/case management for injury,
illness.
- Provides crisis and health counseling.
- Monitors immunizations and CHDP (physical) compliance.
- CPR Instruction

- Provides first aid to students and staff
- Administers medication ( under the direction of the credentialed
school nurse)
- Processes immunization records
- Maintains Health Records
