Elementary Science Specialist Program

Danielle De FrankDanielle J. De Frank's interest in science was fueled by her participation and placement in a science fair as a third grader, where she tested for acids and bases using cabbage juice.

In her second year as a Science Resource Specialist for Plaza Vista and Vista Verde, she oversees science labs for all fourth and fifth graders at both schools.  In addition, she mentors the Future Scientists and Engineers of America (FSEA) at Vista Verde on Tuesdays as part of the school's ACE program.

July 18, 2006 marked her first anniversary as a California resident, having moved from El Paso, Texas.  Ms. De Frank taught for six years in Texas at both high school and elementary levels in subjects including journalism, history, and science.  August 27, 2006 will also mark the one year birthday of science lab pet, I-pod, who is a Salcatta desert tortoise.
