What schools are assigned to serve Portola Springs residents? Until a new elementary school is built in Portola Springs, residents in Portola Springs will be served as follows:
Where shall Portola Springs residents enroll between now and the opening of the new elementary school?
In order to assure a smooth transition, Portola Springs residents may enroll at Stonegate Elementary.
Portola Springs residents may also enroll temporarily at other schools in the district under our Open Enrollment Policy as long as seats are available.
Will a student be permitted to continue at another school when the new school in Portola Springs opens?
When the new school opens, the district will reserve the right to require all residents of Portola Springs in Kindergarten through Grade 3 to transfer to Portola Springs Elementary, if they are enrolled in an elementary school north of Interstate 5. This is necessary to make room for additional new residents in the Northern Sphere who will not yet have their own neighborhood school.
When will the new elementary school in Portola Springs open? The District has purchased a site in Portola Springs for a new K-6 elementary school, which is scheduled to open in the fall of 2016.
What grade levels will the new school serve? The new school will serve students in grades K-6.
When is the new middle school expected to open?
A middle school serving grades 7-8 is expected to open in PA 40 in 2013 (subject to change based on timing of new development). The school will serve students residing north of Interstate 5 and east of Jeffrey. The school will be located near the corner of Trabuco and Jeffrey (155 Visions, Irvine 92620).
Will open enrollment opportunities be available for middle and high school students?
