The Irvine Unified School District's Honors Concert is an annual event that features the finest musicians throughout Irvine.  Selected through a rigorous audition process, students are placed  in one of seven different ensembles: the elementary school honor orchestra, chamber strings, and chorus; the middle school honor orchestra and chorus; and the high school honor orchestra and chorus.  Many of the groups provide for the students an opportunity to perform with renown guest conductors such as composers Elliot Del Borgo, and Richard Meyer, and university conductors Richard Rintoul, Dr. Roger Hickman and John Koshak.  Besides performance at the IUSD Honors concert, many of the honor groups perform at Disneyland, California Adventure Park or Knott's Berry Farm.

This year's all Honor groups will be scheduled on the same day, Tuesday, April 29, 2008:

  • The Elementary School, the Middle School, and the High School Honor Choruses, and,

  • The Elementary Chamber Strings and Orchestra, the Middle School Orchestra, and High School Orchestra.

Both performances will be at the Calvary Church in Santa Ana.  The Calvary Church has a seating capacity of over three thousand people and provides a beautiful and acoustically pleasing venue.
