Membership Grows
There was an impressive increase in PTA membership this year, up 45 members over last year. Thank you to all of the parents, teachers and others who have joined our ranks. Four classrooms received a special award for returning all of their forms. Thanks to Marilyn Fisher for organizing our campaign.
Sixty percent of the membership fee is directly used by Greentree PTA. The remainder goes to help PTA at the state and national level influence funding our children’s education.
Fall Fundraiser Exceeds Goal
Holiday wrap and other gifts were passing through the halls last week as products were distributed. We exceeded our initial fundraising goal, resulting in more than $10,000 back for our students. Thank you to Betsy Dadah and Lynne Hidalgo for coordinating this event and to everyone who helped by purchasing something.
The Cookie Dough sales information is out in circulation. Please support our growth in education.
Red Ribbon Week
Red Ribbons and banners adorned Greentree School during Red Ribbon Week in October. Special events were held to raise awareness among our kids about addictions. Thanks to Jerry Estrada for bringing this event to life! |
PTA Funds School Needs The Greentree PTA approved an aggressive budget at its initial meeting in September to partner with our school to assure funding for some useful student programs that are under-funded by State budget funds:
- K –2nd grade Music Program
- Additional days for School Health Clerk
- Additional days for Counseling Assistant Program
- New Speech and Language curriculum supplies
- All Star and Pride Award student recognition program
- Purchase of new office fax machine
- Special Student Assemblies
- Designated Funds for each Teacher for additional educational supplies
Box Tops for Education -
An Easy Way to Help
Cutting Box Tops off special General Mills products and turning them in to the classroom each month helps support our PTA and school. General Mills reimburses Greentree for all the Box Tops turned in. There is a contest each month among upper and lower grade classrooms, with one in each grade level receiving a special treat from the PTA for their efforts. Parent volunteers are needed to help sort and count each month for our submittal. |
