Behavior Issues
DISHONESTY
(CHEATING, COPYING, FORGERY)
Every student is expected to do his/her own
work on assignments, quizzes, tests, etc. A student who cheats
on work may have the work confiscated and may receive a grade
of "O" on the assignment in addition to other consequences.
Every student is expected to return communications from school
with a parent’s signature on it when requested.
DISRESPECTFUL
BEHAVIOR
A student should treat every individual (fellow
students, parents, Lakeside staff and community members) with
respect. Every individual has the right to disagree with someone
and/or request clarification or more information but this
should be done in an appropriate and not a confrontational
manner at an appropriate time.
DISRUPTIVE
BEHAVIOR
Every student is entitled to a safe environment
at school, to and from school and while involved in school
activities. Another student does not have the right to jeopardize
someone else safety and/or education. Students involved in
disruptive behavior may be suspended from school and/or expelled
from IUSD.
OFF-LIMIT/RESTRICTED
AREAS
- Eating areas are identified on the school map. On rainy
days students are informed as to which rooms will be open
and available as eating areas.
- Bike Rack area is off-limits except when students arrive
at school or leave school.
- Students are not permitted in the buildings before school,
after school, during break, and/or during lunch unless they
are supervised by a staff member. To return to a class at
any of these times, the student must make arrangements with
the teacher.
- During break and lunch students are not permitted in the
following areas: Between building 2 and the office, between
building 2 and 3 (just past the girls’ restroom), and on
the outside perimeter of the school buildings or grounds.
- Field/grass areas are off-limits except to students who
are engaged in an authorized field game. NOTE: Tackle
Football is not permitted.
OUT
OF CLASS WITHOUT A PASS
- A student must obtain a pass from the teacher before leaving
the class.
- A teacher assistant must wear a teacher assistant badge
while out of the classroom.
