Tests                                                                                                20%

Projects / Presentations (individual & group)                       20%

Writing Assignments / Assessments                                   20%

                                                                                      ----------------------

                                                                                                100%

Extra credit is available during the year on certain assignments, but is given at the teacher’s discretion.  Each child will receive 3 extra credit points for each hall pass not used in during a specific trimester.  (10 points can be earned if all 3 passes are turned in, on time, at the end of the trimester.)  Extra credit may also be given at random, for example, attending certain school sponsored events, having all required supplies on a given day, or going over and above the requirements for a particular assignment.

Extra credit is not, however, a way to make up for poor academic choices made throughout a trimester.  It is simply a “boost” for a borderline grade.  Simply stated, extra credit will not drastically improve a long-suffering grade, but can bump up, for instance, a “B+” to an “A-“.
