Dawn Venz

Hello!  My name is Dawn Venz and I have been teaching kindergarten at Meadow Park for 16 years!  In that time I have met and worked with hundreds of wonderful children and their parents!  If you aren’t already familiar with our school, you will soon find how dedicated our entire staff is here at Meadow Park.  I especially enjoy teaching the kindergarteners!  I feel it is so important that their first year of “real school” be a fun and exciting experience!

I was born in Madison, Wisconsin but by the time I was one, we had moved to Oregon.  We lived in Oregon until I was nine (my sister and brother were born), then we moved back to Wisconsin.  We lived there until I was 14.  One week before I was due to start high school, we moved to Maui, Hawaii!  My mom was thrilled to be returning home…I was not so thrilled at that time!  However, it turned out to be one of our best moves ever as we grew very close to our relatives on my mother’s side.

I attended college at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. After graduation I moved with my family from Hawaii to Irvine. I received my masters from Cal State Fullerton. 

I have been married for 13 years to Erik and I have two boys of my own.  My oldest, Joshua, is six and my youngest, Jordan, is two.  Joshua is enjoying first grade at our neighborhood school.  We live in Rancho Santa Margarita and we love it there! I also have two very fat cats that are both 13 years old!! Both sets of grandparents live within 30 minutes or less from us (one set in Irvine and one set in San Clemente) and my boys love spending time with them.
