Janet Anderson had the privilege of beginning her elementary teaching career, in California, when Meadow Park opened in 1987. She began as a first grade teacher and stayed at that level for ten years. She then took the challenge to move to fourth grade where she has spent the last seven years. Prior to moving to California, Janet taught in Hawai’i at Kamehameha Schools. At Kamehameha Schools, she was a first grade teacher, a third grade teacher, a physical education teacher, and a teacher consultant. Before coming to Meadow Park, Mrs. Anderson was a lecturer at Fresno State. There she taught undergraduates the art of teaching language arts. Janet has a Bachelor of Arts degree form the University of Washington and a Master’s degree from the University of Hawai’i. She has been married for 35 years to her lovely husband, Scott. They have a daughter, Kelly, who has received her high school teaching credential and is looking to become a high school social science teacher. In her free time, Janet loves to exercise, read, garden, play with family and friends, and dine. She truly enjoys teaching and thinks of it as her career as well as her avocation.
