I have been teaching elementary school in Irvine since 1979. I am honored to be one of the “Founding Mothers” of Meadow Park School, having been a teacher here since its opening in 1987. Over the years, I have taught kindergarten, first, second, and third grades. I feel fortunate to be working with such a dedicated group of teachers and parents. Teaching second grade at our school is a joy.
I love teaching young children and teaching reading is a special passion of mine. I received training in the Read Naturally program for developing reading fluency and I was a trainer and coach for the Early Intervention Reading Model. I have also been an Instructional Strategies Mentor Teacher, working with teachers on using a variety of teaching strategies. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Sciences at California State University, Fullerton and my teaching credential from the University of California, Irvine.
I am a native Southern Californian, a rare breed I know. I live in Laguna Niguel with my husband and our two children. In my spare time I love to ride my bicycle, hike, and spend time with my family kayaking or just relaxing at the beach or pool.
I learn so much each day from the children I teach. I love watching them learn and grow. I am looking forward to an exciting school year and the opportunity to work with you and your children.
