When I took a computer programming class in high school, I never suspected I would one day teach computer skills to others! In fact, I majored in Art at Pomona College where I received my Bachelor's Degree. I met my future husband at a different college and then worked with him during vacations and weekends at his engineering firm. Once we established our own design business, I assisted with it until my younger son started first grade. I enjoyed helping in both sons' classrooms so much that I applied to the school district so I could work with students full time. Since I had helped install a network, troubleshoot computers, and show teachers and students how to use computers at the boys’ school, switching to full time computer teaching and system administration was a natural progression. I enjoy teaching students and the variety each day brings. I never know what problems and surprises are going to come my way. I have contributed to many school projects, such as the newsletters and the successful applications for Distinguished School and Blue Ribbon School, but the best surprise came in May 2000 when I won Classified Employee of the Year at Irvine Unified School District .

I am married to Ted, an electrical engineer, and have two sons (Thomas and David). I can't believe Thomas now attends college, the Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering in Needham, MA (near Boston). David is still at Northwood High School in Irvine. Although our family is well known as LEGO builders, MY favorite pastimes are reading, sewing (usually costumes), taking photos, and traveling to new places.
