Parking Procedures

Drop-Off Procedures:
With the assistance of Irvine Police Department, Santiago Hills’ parking and loading/unloading zones have been redesigned to improve student safety. Please carefully read the following changes and help ensure the safety of your children and others.

Two lanes direct vehicles through the parking lot. The lane closest to the school building is now designated for student drop off. The outer lane is for buses, only. Parents picking up kindergarteners or students during the school day and parents stopping by the office must park in designated slots or on Christamon West or Orange Arrow.

Student supervision begins at 8:05. (No students may be on campus before this time.)

The teacher on duty will direct cars forward into the student drop off zone, one at a time. Students must remain in cars until their automobile has pulled into the drop zone, and may exit vehicles only from this area. Students should exit cars from the curb side of cars, only. Parents, please direct your students to gather all belongings in advance to enable their quick departure from your car to keep the drop off line moving. Student valets will no longer assist with drop off, this year. After your student exits, please remain in the drop off lane as you leave the school lot. Please watch carefully for students, especially as you cross the sidewalk exit.

Car Pick Up Procedures:
Students waiting for car pick up will gather by the flag pole. The teacher on duty will direct cars forward, one by one, into the pick up zone. Students must wait for their car to be in this area to enter their car, entering from the curb side only. Parents, please remain in the drop off lane as you leave the school lot. Please watch carefully for students, especially as you cross the sidewalk exit and Park Paso parking lot area.
