Measure E Approved! What It Means for Springbrook School

Measure E has passed! This measure provides funds to improve older schools so they meet the same safety and academic standards as new schools in the Irvine Unified School District..  Only voters in the neighborhoods served by the oldest schools voted on this measure. Property owners in the newest areas paying Community Facility District (CFD) fees, toward school facility construction, will not be impacted by this measure. Most of the high schools and middle schools serving graduates of Irvine’s newest elementary schools will receive significant improvements as a result of this measure.

What Does that Mean for Springbrook School?

Springbrook has been open for 27 years, and is due for a complete modernization of our facilities.  Springbrook is at the top of the list to receive new music classrooms, new equipment, HVAC, furniture, flexible collaborative spaces, and more if this bond passes (see full Springbrook list: http://iusd.org/documents/Springbrook%20ES.pdf).  If your child is graduating and moving on to South Lake and Woodbridge, you may be interested in seeing what is in store for other IUSD schools if this measure passes: http://iusd.org/schoolimprovements.html.
