IMPORTANT SCHOOL NOTES
Please do not allow your child to arrive to school before 8:00 am, since supervision is available only after 8:00 a.m. and 15 minutes after the end of the school day.
Designated Drop Off Areas: Parents of Kindergarten students may drop off and pick up their children at the Kindergarten yard gate, using the front sidewalk approach that runs alongside the wall around the Kindergarten play area. Grades 1-6 students, who come to school in the family car, should be dropped off and picked up only in the designated area (alongside the circular area, via the drop-off lane next to the curb). For your child’s safety dropping off behind a parked car will not be allowed. Students should be dropped off and picked up only at the designated area. Please look for the signs identifying the “Drop Off/Pick Up Area”. After departing the family car, children should walk around (instead of walking thru the front office) to the supervised blacktop area in back of the school.
Message from Springbrook's New Principal!
Dear Springbrook Parents and Community,
I truly enjoyed meeting many of you in July at Springbrook. Your warmth and enthusiasm for Springbrook is wonderful. I am so happy to be your new principal. We will take it slow and our major task this year is to build positive relationships. We will navigate any changes together, as needed. Expect what you have done in the past to repeat this next year. I am excited to work with the strong leadership on the PTA and School Site Council. Together, we can create a great year for all of the students, Kindergarten through 6th.
It is apparent to me that the Springbrook families are so very proud of Springbrook. There is a strong school culture and many families that have participated in the program for years. That tradition will be a strong foundation from which to build.

Introducing Dr. Elaine Keeley...
Elaine comes to us from OCDE, where she has served as an Administrator of Instructional Services for the past four years, leading a team of Curriculum and Instruction coordinators who deliver professional development county-wide in core curricular areas. Prior to her time with OCDE, Elaine served as an elementary principal in the HB City SD for 8 years, following an assistant principalship in Santa Ana USD and 13 years of teaching.
Elaine attended UCLA, and received her M.A. from CSULB and her Ed.D. from USC. Elaine says she can't wait to get back to a school site – she misses the kids and is eager to see the impacts of her work in professional development applied in the classroom.
Elaine has been married 23 years to her husband Mike, a chemist for a medical device company. They have two children – Ryan is a junior at Caltech studying physics and history, and Claire will be a freshman at Dominican University in San Rafael, seeking a BFA in dance. As empty nesters, Elaine and Mike have rediscovered their passion for hiking and the arts and she is looking forward to her new role in IUSD! |
