PTSA Reflections News and Update!

We are pleased to see so many artists among our students at Venado Middle School.
The PTSA wants to acknowledge all of those who participated in this year’s program them of “Wow!” We were not disappointed in the response.
The art has been judged, and has moved onto Council level. It is on display at City Hall from November 6th to the 13th, with awards being delivered in the afternoon in the Auditorium.
In the category of Film and Video, we had two participants. Benjamin Chang took first place with his film “The Moment of a Day” and Ethan Marosi submitted a short still action movie, “Lego Indiana Jones.” Both videos were excellent and moved on to the Council level.
We had many artists contribute for the category of Photo. There were many pictures of travel and nature, as well as enhanced photo work that was delightful. The color and splendor said “Wow!” Rebecca Barnes took first place, and Kai Zhou creative photo of A Piano and A Rose took second. Chris Jones photo of Mountain Majesty was third with Howard Kim, Patrick King, Jennifer Mai are also being acknowledged for their work.
Visual Arts is a fun category that inspires artists to create incredible pieces. Sophia Tsau showed us what life through the Rearview Mirror could look like. It left your imagination to wonder, and her interpretation of “Wow!” should take her far with judging. Sang Yoon created the Many Wonders in One World, and inspired the travel love in us all with a second place. Christine Lee created a colorful drawing with Man, Earth and Universe for third place, and Jennifer Mai, Clara Baik, Adriana Frejek, Ashton Davis, Jessica Lin and Jonathan Cho also created incredible art, and we thank you all very much for your participation and efforts.
We pride ourselves in “participation” even more than winning. It’s nice to come out ahead, but you always feel better knowing you participated. Your Art continues to be displayed so that others may enjoy it, and we will return it to you. Thank you on behalf of PTSA, Andy Rawlings President and Melissa Shaw Jones, Reflections Chair.
