Dear Vista Verde Community,

Welcome back to our returning students and parents as well as a warm welcome to our new community members who are joining us as we start this school year together! Thinking about the upcoming year and my role as part of the Vista Verde leadership team, I see a year full of quality learning opportunities for all of us and for the children we serve. My focus right now is to form and deepen meaningful relationships with the students, parents, and staff of Vista Verde in order to gain a richer understanding of the elements that make our school so successful.

Our goal is to create a caring, learning place for all children so each individual child is prepared to meet the demands of the 21st century. We will accomplish this by maintaining the rich programs and exceptional teaching that has been the foundation of this great school for so many years. And we will continue to use our core values as our compass as we identify the knowledge and skills our children will need to be productive and successful in the future.

Parental support and enthusiasm are the linchpins for the continued success of Vista Verde School. Your continued involvement, as well as the assistance of our community, is crucial to achieve these goals for every single Vista Verde student. Consider this message a cordial invitation to all members of our community to participate in whatever way you deem is most important, whether it is working with the parent leadership groups, volunteering in classrooms or supervising the playground. Your efforts make a difference every day for so many of our students. Together, we will sustain our excellent educational program and continue to build a strong community partnership.

When we look back a year from now, I want to ensure we have utilized our resources to create a safe, caring place to learn, met the needs of all learners by providing both support and challenge to our children, and encouraged all our students to develop to their full potential.

As we start the new school year together, please introduce yourself as you see me around school so that I can begin to get acquainted with ALL of our community members. I’m honored to join such an outstanding instructional team and I’m so very excited to begin our work together.
