School Facilities Improvement Measure (Measure E)

The Irvine Unified School District has placed a School Facilities Improvement Bond Measure on the June 2016 ballot. IUSD serves more than 32,000 students and is one of the highest performing districts in the nation. However, due to the state’s new funding formula, IUSD ranks at the bottom in per pupil funding in California. As a result, IUSD’s general fund cannot support the significant investments many of our aging facilities need without creating a significant impact on our instructional programs across the District. IUSD Legislative Priorities 2016

Adequate funding is critical to achieve the Irvine Unified School District’s (IUSD) goal to provide students with the best educational experience we can envision. However, a significant gap in both federal and state per pupil funding puts IUSD at a disadvantage and jeopardizes critical science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) programs. To ensure IUSD remains one of the highest-performing districts in the nation and our students are college and career ready, our top legislative priority is to secure adequate funding at both the state and federal levels for our more than 32,000 students.  For an outline of IUSD’s legislative priorities please click here.

New Volunteer Sign In System

Vista Verde K-8 School is pleased to announce that IUSD will begin using the Raptor Visitor/Volunteer Management System in all of our schools to build on the district’s program of campus safety for students and faculty. Part of keeping students and faculty safe is knowing who is in our building at all times. Raptor allows us to do that. Raptor will better allow us to track visitors and volunteers in our schools and provide us with a safer environment for students and staff. Residency Verification

The Irvine Unified School District will once again require residency verification for all IUSD students returning for the 2016-2017 school year.  This process is an annual legal requirement in California, and it helps our district ensure that all available resources are spent efficiently and effectively to the benefit of our Irvine families  Moreover, these additional steps will help provide a full and precise accounting of our student population as we review staffing for the coming year.

All Vista Verde students (kindergarten – 8th ) returning to an IUSD school for the 2016-2017 school year are required to complete the annual residency verification process.  Parents of students in 8th grade will submit residency verification to Vista Verde and documents will be forwarded to the high school.

By completing the following forms for each of your students, you will be making a formal declaration that your child lives within IUSD’s attendance boundaries.   Please submit completed residency forms along with two proofs of residency and parent ID to the school’s front office by Friday, March 11, 2016.

The following link to the form is provided for your convenience.   Hard copies are available at the school’s front office.
