In addition to a rigorous standards based curriculum, Woodbury is a values centered school.

Students are taught:

COMPASSION
COOPERATION
INITIATIVE
INTEGRITY
PERSEVERANCE
POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE
RESPECT

A student that is driven by values is concerned with society as a whole. A person who is driven by values understands why we have values, is willing to use values, and can identify and prioritize his or her own values for the good of the community.

For the 2008-2009 school year, we will be focusing on the value:

Chores are beneficial for children - even very young ones. Being responsible for doing chores teaches children many important skills such as cooperation and responsibility. Chores also teach children about fairness and commitment. The skills and values learned by doing chores will benefit children throughout their lives.

Getting your child involved with community charities or causes promotes compassion and cooperation, as well as many other strong values and character qualities. Teach your child to give back to their community and others by getting involved yourself. This will also provide more quality time between you and your child. Make it a family event!

Founded by Risha, then a 7 year old who underwent an Auto Islet Cell Transplant in March 2004 for Chronic Pancreatitis. Risha’s current mission as an 11 year old is to brighten the days at the hospital for kids that are having major surgeries. She does this by making giant “quilt cards” with the help of her sister Rhea and Kids Who Care Club kids. They send them cards with the hope of making them feel better and making their rooms cheerful from the kids who care!

This is a great way to spend quality time with your child...making cards for other other children!

The Kids Who Care Club recycles ink cartridges of all sizes. Click on the link below to view the flyer. Please send in the ink cartridges to class with your child and we'll take care of the rest.
