The Red Dragon

           Ancient China is a fascinating civilization that is still flourishing today. China had delicious foods and religious clothing worn for celebrations like Chinese New Year. Chinese people celebrate with parades which are loud but full of fun. You can also see people dressed as dragons dancing in the parade.

                 Shang Dynasty started in 1766 B.C. and was the first dynasty in China. Their dynasty was in the middle of the North China Plain. During this dynasty men were the leaders of the family. People in the Shang Dynasty believed that  family was very important so they often sacrificed animals for their family.

 

                 Zhou Dynasty people believed that if you disappointed the gods that they would take your approval as a leader away. This belief was called the Mandate of Heaven. Many rules from the Shang Dynasty was also used in the Zhou Dynasty. Under the rule of this dynasty Chinese territory got bigger ,but after 800 B.C. nomads attacked from the east and west of China. Eventually, they destroyed Hao (which was the capital of China) and killed the king.

 

                 Qin Dynasty which was ruled by Shi Huandi. This ruler made China’s Territory even  larger than before. Shi Huandi liked Legalism but hated Confucianism. Shi Huadi  ordered peasants and criminals to help build The Great Wall Of China. Shi Huandi died in 210 B.C.
