Text Box:  	The Mississippi was named after the Mississippi river. It was named Mississippi by the Chippewa Indians. The word “Mississippi”  means the large river in the Chippewa language. 
	My State motto is “Virtute et Armis” and it means in our language Valor and arms.

 This is the official  Mississippi states flower and tree. This is called a “magnolia” tree/flower.
