Octagon: The center of the Oklahoma seal’s star is the original territory of Oklahoma. Columbia is the central figure, representing justice. She is surrounded by an image of the American pioneer farmer  and the aboriginal American Indian. Both are shaking hands beneath the scales of justice, which symbols equal justice between the Anglo and native American races in Oklahoma and on the part of the Federal government. 
Hexagon: The Oklahoma state flag honors more than 60 groups of Native Americans. The blue field comes from a flag carried by Choctaw soldiers during the civil war. The center shield is the battle shield of an Osage warrior. It is made of buffalo hide and decorated with eagle feathers. Two symbols of peace lie across the shield. One is the  peace pipe. The other is an olive branch. Crosses on the shield are native American signs for stars.
