In conducting its search for IUSD’s next superintendent, the Board of Education is seeking the community's input about the desired qualities and characteristics of a new schools chief. Specifically, the Board is interested in your response to the following question: What personal and professional qualities for an incoming superintendent will be a match for the Irvine Unified School District?    The executive search firm Leadership Associates has been selected to conduct the recruitment and comprehensive search process that will ultimately lead to a successor for the retiring Gwen Gross, and a superintendent-search timeline was approved by the Board during a special session on Jan 6.

(To view the timeline, click here.) The next milestone is Wednesday, Jan. 19, when search advisers Rene Townsend and Mike Caston will travel to the district to meet with community partners and employee groups by appointment. Later that day, individual members of the public and staff will be invited to share their ideas and learn more about the search process during an open forum from 5 to 6 p.m. No appointment is necessary to participate in the forum, which will take place at the District Office, 5050 Barranca Parkway, Irvine. If you are unable to attend the open forum, you may submit input via e-mail to leadershipassociates@cox.net, or via fax to 949-461-9119.  The Board values your input and appreciates your time and interest. Any additional questions should be directed to Lee Brooks, executive assistant to the superintendent, at 949-936-5251 or lbrooks@iusd.org.
