TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT

Background

The person in this position will:

  • Act as a resource to IUSD Staff relative to using the capacity available in the district's computer technology infrastructure, and to implementing the vision of the district's Technology Plan.
  • Develop internal support systems designed to increase the capacity of teachers to use technology.
  • Develop curriculum that effectively integrates the use of technology by students in their teaching assignment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Design and implement support systems and learning networks for the benefit of K-12 teaching staff for the purpose of providing capacity and increasing usage.
  • Build the capacity of individual staff members to use computer technology.
  • Coordinate training designed for K-12 teachers to increase the integrates use of computer technology by their students.
  • Support the LAN administrators at elementary schools.
  • Develop, promote, and coordinate curriculum designed specifically to integrate the use of Internet information sources, Internet projects, and student use of e-mail into existing curriculum
  • Design and coordinate a system of middle and high school student technical assistance to elementary schools.
  • Collect evidence on pre-determined content standards relative to teacher and student use of computer technology.
  • Provide minor troubleshooting service for both hardware and network issues.
  • Act as technology liaison between IUSD and other districts.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possess valid California Teaching Credential
  • Knowledge of IUSD District Operations
  • Knowledge of IUSD sites K-12
  • Familiarity with IUSD Technology Plan
  • Familiarity with IUSD Net and Internet
  • Demonstrated ability to present workshops, trainings, and computer installations.
